Extended Warranty Service Contracts - At face value they aren’t a bad idea! The complexity of newer vehicles with computerized "brain centers" that control and monitor vehicle operations can bring-on a very costly repair. The part alone can cost up to $1,500.00 then add the diagnosis time and labor. A repair like this will cover the cost of the warranty.

MAKE SURE WHATEVER WARRANTY YOU BUY, covers gaskets
and seals. REASONING: Your vehicle blows a head gasket (a major repair) or an oil seal and your engine overheats and cracks the head or worse "throws a rod." Because it was the gasket or seal that failed you are responsible for the repair. New and used car warranties from factory or independent companies often exclude "gaskets and seal coverage.
